Having established certain facts about getting ready but not being prepared for a job interview in the part1 of this post, with our reference in the book of Matthew 25:1-12, here are some other tips on how best to answer frequently asked questions in a typical interview:
QUESTIONS REGARDING TEAMWORK AND BOSSES
11. "Are you a team player?" - the question is asking if you will fit in. Most answers received are always positive but you need to provide behavioral examples to back your answer up.
12. "What do co-workers say about you?" - be prepared with a quote or two from co-workers, either specific or paraphrased statements.
13. "What irritates you about co-workers?" - this is a tricky question but reply with a short statement as 'I seem to get along with folks' will be great.
TOUGH QUESTIONS
14. "How would you react if I told you your interview, so far, has been terrible?" - stop for a moment and really think, don't get angry or annoyed for it could be a trap. It was a question and not a conclusion, only trying to discover who you really are behind all your 'polished' answers.
15. "Do you have any blind spots?" - it's better you let them do the discovery themselves rather than hand those spots to them.
16. "How would you rate me as an interviewer?" - again, this is aimed at throwing you off balance, to see how you'll react. Keep your calm. You can make it known that it's one of the toughest interview you've ever been to and hope to be successful.
QUESTIONS ON YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ORGANISATION
17. "What do you know about us?" - you must have carried out research on the organisation, find out where they have been and where they are going.
18. "Explain how you'd be an asset to this organisation" - this is a chance to highlight your best options as they relate to the position being discussed.
19. "Are you willing to put the interest of the organisation ahead of your own?" - this is a straight loyalty and dedication question, simply say yes and don't worry about ethical and philosophical implications.
20. "How can you help the company?" - now is the time to will them of your proven skills and knowledge that you gained at some of your other previous jobs; use an example of significant contribution.
