NAME: The power in it.

What is a name?
A name is a word-like identity by which a person is recognised or identified.

Just like a 'resume'  gives an overview of a  person's physical worth, a 'name' gives the spiritual worth of such individual.
With this fact being understood, certain considerations must be given to the literal meaning(s) of a name before being associated to an individual. Circumstances surrounding the birth of an individual,  more often than not,  determine the name of the individual.

Most people nowadays careless of what name they answer to and so, they indirectly exhibit the traits associated to such names,  most times in the realm of the spirit which in turn,  surface out in the physical realm. This is because nothing occurs in the physical without first having its root in the spiritual.

For example; a man, named Jabez (in Hebrew means sorrow/pain) in the book of 1Chronicles 4:9-10, was a very honorable man even amongst his brethren but what kept him on the same spot was his name. He knew God and understood the value of a name, and so, immediately sought after a change of name so that all is accumulated blessings may come to him.
In like manner, God himself understands the excellence of a name that is why He Himself changed the name of Abraham in Genesis 17:1-7. God knew the name 'Abram', which in Hebrew means 'Exalted Father', was a limiting factor to the level He wanted to take Abraham to. God blessed him initially to the level his earthly name could take him and afterwards, changed it to 'Abraham' meaning 'Father of many Nations', so that his uncountable blessings will be his forever more.

In summary, take a look at the meaning of your name and circumstances surrounding it, if it doesn't qualify you and what God wants for you (Jeremiah 29:11), ask Him to give you a new name.
Also, you might have a 'good' name but not describing where God wants to take you, develop a closer walk with God and He Himself will change your name.

If you're not in right standing with Him, you might not be able to change your name, be it negative name or a limiting name, so ask God for forgiveness and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, be ready to do His will and He will do much more above all you can ever ask or imagine.

Stay blessed!!!
